2 seniors earn Trib's Outstanding Young Citizen Award

Congratulations to Deer Lakes seniors Pierce Hayostek and Alexis Hoburg who were named two of the Trib's 100 Outstanding Young Citizens!
***Pierce Haysotek***
Pierce will attend Penn State Main Campus on an NROTC Marine option scholarship where he will study Business Administration.
Pierce is National Honor Society President, and he is also in Student Council and Spanish National Honor Society. Pierce was the Drum Major of the Deer Lakes Marching Band for his junior and senior years. Pierce is also an Eagle Scout and serves as the School Board Student Representative.
***Alexis Hoburg***
Alexis will attend Penn State University Park where she has been admitted to the Schreyer Honors College. She will major in Actuarial Science at the Smeal College of Business and will pursue a career as an actuary.
Alexis is a member of National Honor Society, Girl Scouts, Student Council, and serves as Treasurer of Spanish National Honor Society. She has earned varsity letters in gymnastics, golf, and track & field. She has also qualified for the WPIAL championships in gymnastics and track & field.
Outside of school, she is a member of the Pittsburgh Northstars club gymnastics team. She has medaled at the regional and state levels.
