Deer Lakes hosts PASC Conference

Deer Lakes School District hosted the Pennsylvania Associations of Student Councils (PASC) Region B Conference.
PASC is a statewide organization that develops and elevates leaders by providing opportunities, networking, and civic engagement for students and advisors to engage in their schools, communities, and the world.
The District hosted hundreds of students from dozens of Region B school districts from Allegheny, Washington, and Greene counties. Guests from Region A, C, and H were also in attendance, as well as Keynote Speaker and retired Steelers quarterback Charlie Batch.
Deer Lakes junior Kaylee Pryor is on the PASC State Executive Board, and she is the Region B Representative for all high school students from Allegheny, Washington, and Greene counties.
Deer Lakes eight-grader Nathan Olszewski is on the PASC State Executive Board where he is the Middle Level West Representative. He represents all of Western Pennsylvania students in grades 5-8.
"At this conference, it’s an opportunity for all of the member schools to meet, attend workshops, and vote on any necessary items," Kaylee said. "We had workshops covering various topics including stress management, procrastination, time management, how to be a leader, etc. All workshops were run by students from across the region and even students outside of the region who came."
Many students from our district and other schools made this conference a great success -- thank you to everyone who contributed their time and expertise to make such a great day possible!
