Freshman participates in Pirates' first Reverse Signing Day

Deer Lakes freshman Colby Parks was recently one of 11 Miracle League players chosen to participate in the Pittsburgh Pirates’ first Reverse Signing event.
As an inaugural participant in the event, Colby received his own TOPPS baseball card with a picture that was taken on Deer Lakes’ baseball field. Pirates Manager Don Kelly, nine players and owner Bob Nutting asked Colby for his autograph card and several players asked him to sign a baseball for them. Colby was also gifted a personalized jersey.
Colby’s family said they have never seen him so excited!
Colby has a great love of sports, especially for both our local professional teams as well as all Lancers teams. He is often in attendance for games to watch his friends compete and is considered by many of his classmates to be their No. 1 fan.
